The Fifth Annual Queen's School of Computing Awards ceremony brought great pride to the Perk Lab.
Tamas Ungi, MD, PhD, is the inaugural recipient of the School of Computing Research Award. Since joining the School of Computing just three years ago, Tamas has demonstrated exceptional contribution to our research program. At the time of the noimination, he had authored and co-authored 17 peer-reviewed papers in high-impact journals, 9 refereed international conference papers, and 22 refereed conference abstracts, all since he joined Queen’s. Tamas received several research awards as first author: ImNO 2013, 1st Prize and ImNO 2011, 3rd Prize, as well as co-author: CIRSE 2012, Grand Prize, CARS 2012, 2nd Prize; ImNO 2013, 2nd Prize and ImNO 2013, 3rd Prize.
Mattea Welch received the Outstanding Contribution to School Life Award. Mattea is role model for other undergraduates in the Perk Lab, she leads from the front by positive example. She has been a tireless ambassador of the Perk Lab, as well as the Biomedical Computing Program and the School of Computing. She demonstrated her work at numerous outreach events and can always count on Mattea in providing engaging technical demonstrations and guided tours to visitors.
