Join us in celebrating Eric Moult, the 2010 recipient of the Cameron Applied Science Scholarship. This award was established in February 2006 by Hugh Cameron, B.Sc. 1973, and Heather Hume, B.A. 1972, M.D. 1978. It is awarded on the basis of academic excellence to a student in third or fourth year of any program in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science who has applied his or her engineering knowledge and/or techniques in an innovative manner related to non-traditional engineering fields.
PerkLab members and affiliates submitted 7 papers to SPIE Medical Imaging 2011 conference and all of them were accepted. Congratulations to all authors, especially the two undergrad students, Laura Bartha and Eric Moult.
Congratulations to our Tamas Ungi, who received an Ontario Ministry of Research & Innovation Post-Doctoral Fellowship, for his project entitled "Computational modeling of image-guided needle-based surgery". This truly is a grand achievement for Tamas who has recently relocated to Queen's from Hungary.
Please join me in celebrating Mark Wu, who received The Governor General's Academic Silver Medal today at the convocation ceremony. This medal is awarded to the student deemed to have the highest academic standing in a Bachelor degree program.
"Dr. Gabor Fichtinger of the Queen's School of Computing has been awarded a Level 1 Research Chair in Medical Imaging by Cancer Care Ontario. This award is a recognition of the high quality of Dr. Fichtinger's contributions in the area of Biomedical Computing.
